Little Cotswolds Walks by RR Gordon Book 6. Stroud & Surrounds
There are some fantastic pubs in the hills and valleys around Stroud. The atmosphere at the Prince Albert in Rodborough reminds me of a party at your best friends house, with great local bands most weekends. When I first walked into the Vine Tree in Randwick on a cold winter's day I had the same feeling as when I walk into a mountain-top bar in the Alps: a welcoming warmth which wraps its arms around you and there's a great view out of the back window over the Stroud valleys. The Star Inn in Whiteshill does great food - including tapas! - and of course there's the classic Woolpack Inn perched on the side of the Slad road. There's no such thing as a flat walk in the Cotswolds and you'll be tired after every one of these walks - so it's a good job there's a great pub at the end of each one! I hope you'll enjoy discovering these hills and valleys as much as I did.
